Be Well

As we mature we may find our wellness goals are not just about changing our bodies. Our mental wellness becomes increasingly important. Managing our mental and physical health starts with practicing self C.A.R.E. I like to think of wellness as an energy cup. The fuller the cup, the fuller the life we can live. The shift to better self care requires more emphasis placed on a healthy mindset and a holistic approach to better health.

But frequently we turn to crash diets, high intensity fitness and feeling desperate for a quick fix. While movement and healthy eating are vital to our health, we cannot ignore the importance of sleep and stress reduction in meeting our health goals.

Restoring balance in our mind and body takes patience, not intensity. Think gentle movement, consistent hydration, improved sleep and regular healthy meals. When you are ready to make a change, you must dig deep and do the necessary work.

Start by identifying the path with the least amount of resistance and explore the steps below.

Tips for Practicing Self - C.A.R.E.

C is for Connect - Align your mind and body to prepare for a positive change

A is for Accept - Accept where you are starting from and appreciate your strength, resilience and beauty

R is for Recognize - Recognize where your desire for change comes from. Ask yourself what you want to change and why

E is for Engage - Be a proactive participant in your journey toward a new habit
